Half Life 2: Episode 2

Sort of.

Worthplaying has five pretty new pictures for you to see. And 1up snagged a quickie from Doug Lombardi. And by quickie I mean they got a quote saying that they’re still on schedule for a holiday release for Episode 2. Yeah. That’s about it.

I’m excited.

Though they are saying that Episode 2 will take you through more different locales than HL2 did. Actually really looking forward to the forest scenes. Plus promises of some answers to the Vortigaunts and what they’re doing also, they said Alyx’s connection to them, but I could care less about that. She was an addition to the storyline in the first place. Once we answer some core questions about what the hell is going on, then we can move on to the side stories. Sadly(gratefully?) my opinion counts for naught and we’re at Valve’s mercy as they scramble together to make up something to fill in the storyline and to make it be cool. Which is getting harder and harder as they continually put it off, because it keeps getting built up in people’s minds to being this huge grandoise, epic story and to meet that expectation is only going to lead to failure and disappointment.

I won’t put them fully out for the count just yet on that. They may whip out something amazing and awe inspiring.
