Halo 3 goes gold

Halo 3 goes gold

The wait is almost over. Halo 3, the final chapter in the trilogy, has been released to manufacturing. That means one thing: the game is now finished, and is on its way to store shelves in less than four weeks.

Halo 3 is touted to have exceeded one million presales in North America alone. Would Halo 3 beat the sales records on September 25? I might regret that question, since frothing fanboys will soon be making sweeping, uninformed statements regarding the game’s sales performance.

Halo 3 is developed by Bungie Studios and exclusive to the Xbox 360. For now, at least. When Microsoft decides to make a new OS (they might be working on a new one right now, for all we know), expect Halo 3 to be ported to the PC and run exclusively in that OS.

Halo 2 generated $125 million in sales within the first 24 hours from its release last November 9, 2004. With the existing library of FPS titles for the Xbox 360, would the third installment be as successful? Ask me again in four weeks.

I don’t care what Microsoft says they will never give a shit about PC gamers. If they did they’d release Halo 3 on the PC NOW, or at least shortly after the 360 release.

  2. Mike says:

M$ only starts caring about PC gamers when they have a new OS to sell. Then they start shoving down the product down our collective throats.

  3. Jordan hart says:

Halo 3 is the best thing since the creation of the wii !
