Happy (?) Memorial Day from Yielding Wealth

I always find it interesting to wish people a “happy” Memorial Day. After all, we are remembering those who have sacrificed for us. I tend to think that wishing people a “grateful” Memorial Day would be more appropriate.
I think of those who are sacrificing for our country right now, and of those who have done so in the past. Memorial Day is personal for me because:
- My husband’s cousin is getting ready for another tour of duty in Iraq. They’re sending him for the third time, one week before his enlistment is up.
- Friends in the National Guard have been on duty in Iraq.
- My grandpa is veteran of Korea.
- My husband’s grandpa (who died two years ago) was a WWII Air Force vet.
- We adorn my grandmother’s brothers’ (WWII — Air Force and Navy) graves yearly.
Chances are, you know someone who has served our country in the Armed Forces.
Don’t forget to be grateful.
