New Harry Potter Soundtrack!

The soundtrack for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince came out this week so if you really enjoyed the music from the film, you should pick up (or download) a copy! If you do download it, you might be pleased to learn that a digital code allowing CD owners to download a copy of the soundtrack in 5.1 Digital Surround Sound is available!
The score features music by Nicholas Hooper, who also composed the music for Harry Potter and the 
Order of the Phoenix. I will admit that these last two soundtracks have been quite different from those featured in the first four films (the first three were done by John Williams, the fourth was composed by Patrick Doyle).
I know that some have complained that the music from these past two films haven’t been as “magical” or “mischievous” but I think the change is appropriate. The gang is growing up and the “soundtrack of their lives” should reflect that.
Besides, it’s not as if everything has been erased. You’ll notice that Williams’ “Hedwig’s Theme” is featured in the “Opening” and “Ginny” tracks and many samples from earlier songs appear throughout this latest score.
