Have a very Mario Christmas!

Yes, I know, it’s not very original. The use of the name Mario—in place of Merry—is probably as old as the video game that spawned the pudgy red jumper-clad plumber. I just thought it proper to use the line for this very festive occasion, especially since this blog is about classic and retro gaming, and Mario is a video game icon every generation from the 80s to the present can recognize.

Of course, before writing this piece, I scoured the Internet for a good photo to go with the “Have a very Mario Christmas!” title. This is the first one I found:
