Hawaii Dominates: No One Cares

Poor Hawaii. They had a great day, with yet another win. Colt Brennan threw for six touchdowns giving them the easy 50 – 13 win over New Mexico State. And that’s the problem. Over New Mexico State. Hawaii is still undefeated, and yet they aren’t even close to that top place spot. Why? Because their freaking schedule sucks.
So once again, no one really cares that the ‘Bows won. Well, maybe some people care, but it doesn’t really matter, because they’ll never get the chance to be BCS champions. And hey, I’m not saying that Hawaii is that great. They’re OK. Next to some of the other top teams, like Ohio State or Boston College or even LSU, I think that they’ll lose. But I guess we’ll never know. Yet another reason why the BCS ranking system isn’t the best why to go about picking a champion.
But, congrats to Brennan and the rest of the Hawaii team for a nice win. Hopefully the next three games will give you more of a challenge.

Check out what others are saying about this post...[...] Poor Hawaii. We’ll never know how good…or bad…they are. I definitely think that Hawaii will go undefeated, but their schedule sucks, so they’ll end up pretty far down the list for an undefeated team. They do have a few slightly harder games coming up, and I think some of the current top tenners will lose, so I predict that Hawaii will end up around #7.
