Haze video preview shows compelling features
Frankly, I’ve always been skeptical of Haze, the PS3 exclusive being developed by Free Radical Design because it looked like a poor man’s version of Crysis when facing the game’s vegetation. I felt that there wasn’t any major feature that compelled me to get the upcoming FPS when it comes out next month. At least until I watched the following video:
According to GameTrailer’s preview video, Haze features a cooperative mode that lets gamers play the entire campaign with three more companions—a whopping four players shooting it up together. If that’s not compelling, then I don’t know what is. Army of Two, Kane & Lynch, and Gears of War comes with two-player coop, but I’ve never really experienced a four-way romp through single-player before.

Mike, while I’ll agree…to a certain extent that at first glance Haze may not seem to set itself apart from the rest of the crowd, I urge further research into this game, as there are many unique features found only in Haze. It’s good to see that you have noted the 4-player coop as unique. However, the asymmetrical combat system between the Mantel troopers and PH rebels is also a noteworthy standout.

Hey Morne.
Good point on the combat. It does sound intriguing, but I’ve yet to try it for myself, at least until launch rolls by.
I think this disparity between the two sides would be made more apparent in multiplayer.
I’m still curious how the four-player coop would work. I wonder if the difficulty would ramp up. I mean, I’m sure I can finish the game by myself. Playing with three more buddies would theoretically make it a cakewalk.
And if it does get “tougher” at four-player coop, how is it ramped up? Better AI? Players are have fewer “hit points”?
