Health insurance? Anyone? Anyone?

According to a new poll, most small businesses don’t have any health coverage for owners and employees. Discover Business Card’s survey says almost 77 percent of small business owners do not offer health insurance to their employees.health care costs for small business

But 39% of small business owners also say the cost of health care makes it difficult for them to grow.

Many small business owners, like me, are covered another a spouse’s or significant other’s plan. According to the surve, 27% use this option.

But for those whose don’t have health benefits through another means, or for those who can’t afford to purchase a plan, they are simply going without.

How about you? Is health care an issue for you and your business?

    Shannon,
This is so timely. I’ve been meaning to look into small business health insurance for over two weeks now. I long for the independence of knowing that my company offers health insurance for me and my family. I think that’s a start. I hear the cost to cover a family can be upwards of $800. per month and that’s with a $50. doctor’s visit deductible. Yikes!
