Hey, Bulls-Pistons Series, Cut it Out

I am terrified to write about this right now, but let this be known: in an odd confluence of family tradition and moving as a young child, my sports allegiances were split between New York teams and Detroit teams. The New York teams which my family elders cared about became my favorite teams in their respective sports. Those sports with a void were filled with the local Detroit teams. And so it came to pass that I am both a Yankees fan and a Pistons fan. And so, here I am, in a familiar place, which I am only able to hint at, and not actually discuss in detail. Why? Because I’m scared, that’s why.

    Pistons rule!

have been a life long Pistons fan.

As a kid, the only NBA games on TV were the Celtics vs. Knicks.

Walt Frazier was my favorite player.

Became a closet Knicks fan, until we paid Isiah Thomas to destroy the franchise! :)

I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for the Ewing bunny hop. The front office actions of the Bad Boys backcourt really clinched the choice for me too.

  3. James says:

not to talk age, but Earl the Pearl was pretty amazing and Willis Reed was no slouch.

Hard to believe they have fallen so far. Stern would love nothing more than a return of the Knicks and the possible TV/Cable audience.
