High Stakes Poker Moves

So over the past year I’ve spent most every weekday late evening (from 2 am to 3 am) watching High Stakes Poker on GSN to put me to bed.

I got more than a little upset last night when I turned the channel on at my usual time and found instead of High Stakes, a rerun of another retro game show like they play all throughout the day on the channel. Yeah, High Stakes is gone.

They are now only showing High Stakes and World Poker Tour on GSN on Sunday nights. Ugh. This seems a horrible move, as High Stakes is the only variation in a series of old shows, and supposedly had been one of their higher rankings.

I have to imagine this all relates to the next season of High Stakes moving to Fox Sports Net but it still, in the meantime, sucks. I mean, I’d seen every episode more than a few times, and pretty much could dictate the action as it came, but it was still better than all the other poker shows.

I hope someone finally puts the show out on DVD (I know you can download it, and I have several episodes, but it’s just not the same) or that next season comes quickly (filming is said to begin in November).
