High Stakes Poker Season 5

As confirmed in earlier weeks, High Stakes Poker will indeed be invoked for a 5th season at its home on GSN. There’s been a bit more elucidation to the proceedings as thins continue to evolve, including an interview with the show’s producers now live at Cardplayer TV’s feature.

As the story goes, the show hopes to continue to push the action by getting the players to agree to perhaps even larger min buyins of $250k and raised blinds of $400/$800, a change from the show’s usual $100k min and $300/$600 blinds. Should be pretty nasty either way, and still in the mind of the best poker show on TV.

The producers maintain, though, that the show’s format is basically up to the players and what they most want to do, which I like: a hands off approach cementing a good format for all.
