Hilton Hotels Gets Sued by Starwood Hotels

Hilton Hotels appears to be in hot water if the allegations in a new lawsuit are proven true. According to Starwood Hotels, Hilton Hotels and two former employees have stolen thousands of files containing secrets regarding Starwood Hotels’ luxury resorts.

The two former employees have been identified as Amar Lalvani and Ross Klein. Lalvani was a reportedly a leading developer of Starwood Hotel’s luxury resorts, while Klein was the president of their luxury resorts. Starwood Hotel’s luxury resorts are commonly branded as “W” hotels.

Starwood Hotels owns more than 900 hotel properties around the world and is believed to have more than 75,000 employees. It’s revenue in 2008 was reported as $1.5 billion.

Founded in 1919, Hilton Hotels has a presence in more than 75 countries worldwide and a total of approximately 3,200 hotels.

In the allegation, Starwood Hotels claims that the number of files stolen is in excess of 100,000.

  1. It is a serious allegation and will badly hurt Hilton. In this time of global downturn this is not the thing they should get into. Hilton Hotel should work hard to get rid of such allegations.
