Hoelzer Sets World Record in 200m Backstroke

Margaret Hoelzer set a new world record and qualified to compete in Beijing in the women’s 200m backstroke event last night at the Qwest Center in Omaha with a time of 2:06.09. Finishing second and also qualifying was Elizabeth Beisel.

Hoelzer qualified for the women’s 100m backstroke event earlier in the week, finishing second to Natalie Coughlin.
