Home, Sweet Home

After a few weeks of keeping fans on the edges of their seats, Ryan Mallet has chosen his new home – Arkansas. Smart move? Maybe. Arkansas will, in all likelihood, be a program where he’ll get to play after sitting out the required year, unless an amazing freshman recruit joins the team (and even then, it will be a battle who to start). The current starting QB is a rising senior.

The downside is, of course, that he’ll have to play under that snake Bobby Petrino. However, career-wise, this isn’t a bad move. Mallet is a pro-style QB and Petrino is a pro-style coach (even if he doesn’t have a pro-style attitude). And you know, Petrino is a good coach. Played correctly and barring any injuries, I think we can really see Mallet shine. I guess we’ll see in 2009!
