Hot New Advertising Gimmick
Kraft Foods To Heat Chicago Bus Shelters To Promote Company’s Stove Top Stuffing
The ad execs at Kraft are anything but stuffy.
In a holiday promotion designed to get Chicago commuters to warm up to their Stove Top stuffing, Kraft announced it will be heating bus shelters throughout the City of Big Shoulders and passing out free samples of their trademarked seasoned stale bread.
The company will leverage the heated bus shelters in a follow-up campaign for Shake ‘N Bake in which Kraft employees will approach people waiting for the bus and shake the crap out of them.
“We fully expect to lose a couple of employees — especially in the rougher sections of town,” noted Kraft Vice-President of Marketing Teddy Graham, “But on the plus side, the personnel savings should offset the cost of the advertising.”
Also under consideration: a Planters Nuts campaign where samples are handed out at mental health clinics and a marketing program for Cheese Nips cross-promoted with your local strip club.
