Houston Astros Bring Back Biggio

No, Craig Biggio isn’t coming out of retirement to play for the Houston Astros. However, the Astros legend agreed to a personal service contract to remain a part of the franchise. The contract is three years in length.

Although the exact job description hasn’t been totally planned out, Biggio is expected to work with the team in spring training. Biggio could also be called upon to help minor leaguers throughout the upcoming season.

Jeff Bagwell, another former Astros legend, agreed to a similar contract after his 2006 retirement. Bagwell and Biggio might be asked to work together and help young players by using their many year’s of baseball knowledge.

Here is a video tribute of Craig Biggio collecting his 3000th hit:

I think bringing Biggio on was a classy move by The Astros organization and it will hopefully make an impact for them this year!
