How do you plan your work travel?

What’s your tip for planning work travel?  How do you get the best rates?  Me, I use HotWire.  What about maps?  E-tickets?

BTW … there haven’t been too many entries for the contest yet.  You don’t want to miss out do you?  Here’s a little poll that I think should set things straight ….

And another quick note, we’re going to have our first Biz Channel Theme Day next week (Tuesday in fact).  We’re going to talk about our picks for holiday giving and all the posts will be listed here at PYW!

I think it’s important to define what “best” rate means to you.

It doesn’t always mean the lowest price. Convenience, location, timing, transportation offered, amenities, upgrades, etc., all adds value.

YOu just have to stack it all up in the evaluation process.

I agree! Sometimes I’m just looking for the lowest price, but usually location is very important (for conferences). Then the toppers like free WiFi and breakfast just bring things over the top!

Thanks for coming by Mary Jo!

I don’t always want the lowest price. Reputation matters a lot more. In other words if an airline or hotel has left a previous bad taste in my mouth, then I won’t use them again no matter how low the price.
