As business owners mostly know and understand, it is essential to the success of a business that you have good leadership skills. When you have a team of employees or contractors working for you, your leadership skills should be at a level where you can effectively lead them. Yet, if you need to hone your skills, the list below can help you in this area.

These are the areas and questions that you should ask yourself about your leadership style.

  • Communication: Do you have the ability to confer information to your team in a way that they understand it and if they don’t, you are open to discussing their questions?
  • Delegation: Does your team understand how you assign project task? Do you empower your team to excel?
  • Visionary: Have you shared with your team the direction that you plan on taking your business? Does your team buy into your vision?
  • Trustworthy: Does your team clearly understand you and feel that you are open and honest with them?
  • Self management: Does your team feel that you manage your time and business well? Do you show respect for others while managing them?
