How to Gain Poker Experience Fast

Reading the rules and understanding the theory behind how to play the game of poker is the first step in becoming a winning poker player, but it is not the only part of the equation. You also need experience to understand the interplay of players and develop a keen sixth sense to feel out when to fold, bluff, call, or check.
As the term connotes, experience in poker takes time, but with the web you can speed up your learning curve and spend little or no money in doing so.
What you want to do is find poker tournaments with something at stake. These can be free rolls or actual cash buy-ins. As you’re learning poker, it is probably best to go for a free roll with a prize or prizes for the top finisher(s). However, entering into a small buy-in tournament ($2.00 or less) can usually give you more competitive play while helping you log a numerous amount of hands in a short time frame.
