how to get tech deals on Cyber Monday
If you’re like me, you missed out on Black Friday deals. I didn’t stay up all night on Thanksgiving and even though we made it to Best Buy by 7 a.m. on Friday, we missed out on all the deals.
Maybe our luck will improve with Cyber Monday, this Monday’s online equivalent of Black Friday. Cyber Monday even has a Cyber Monday site, where you can clip online coupons. A few coupon and deal sites:

Ben’s Bargains
My favorite online site for all around deals: Woot, an online tech bargain site which sells one good deal per day until that deal is sold out. Your best bet for getting coupons from major retailers: sign up at their websites for their online newsletters: Dell, Circuit City, Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, etc. Use a throwaway email address or even set up an email box just for coupons. Yahoo gives away email boxes. So do Gmail and Hotmail.
When my hubby parked our car (he dropped me off in front of the store), he saw fist fights breaking out in the parking lot of the store over parking spaces. He easily found a space behind the store, where no one was parking.
We managed to snag a couple of 2 gigabyte usb flash drives for $30 each (not a great sale, but at least we got that). To find these deals, I reasoned other people would hide sales stuff behind the regular merchandise on the shelves near the sales they wanted. So, I searched behind the regular sales shelved items and sure enough… I found a few deals I wanted to buy. too bad for them! we found their stash. Pleased, we left the store with our small purchases. It didn’t matter that we didn’t get to buy that great NVidia video board or Adobe’s Photoshop Elements 5.0 and all the computers were gone, long before we even walked in the store. Next, we went home, fed the dogs and took them with us for a ride to Staples where, once more, all the good stuff had been sold before we ever arrived. While at Staples, I noticed several Tibetan Buddhist monks, decked out in beautiful saffron-yellow and red robes, who were in the same boat I was. They too had missed all the sales; we all had a good laugh about our lack of sales readiness.
Next year, I may just skip shopping on Thanksgiving weekend and do something more in tune with that holiday, like helping others and being thankful that I can.

The monks definitely enjoyed checking out all the high tech stuff inside of Staples. Aren’t Tibetan monks really technological wizards? I understand they’ve put up their own wireless networks all over the world. Does anyone know?
Anyway, they browsed the cameras, computers and SD flash cards while I was intent on finding an inexpensive fast SD Ultra storage card.
I kept seeing these monks around the shopping center that day.. in Kohl’s and outside of PetSmart, where they enjoyed watching our two dogs, one of whom coincidentally is named ‘Tao’ or ‘Dao’ as in ‘the way.’ The name suits Tao perfectly; he is a very contented and balanced chow chow, friendly too, even in his senior years.

You missed the best Tech Deals Site of them all. I had my Black Friday and Tech Deals posted way before other Deals Sites and plan to do the same this year. I stayed up for 34 hours updating the site every few mins so customers can take advantage as soon as the deals were available.
