How to go Carless with Kids
It really is ridiculous. So many families with children go without an auto at their beck and call, and yet people who’ve always lived with a car can hardly imagine it. How could we do it with our weather? How could we do it with our baby? Question no more.
Best Green Blogs recently gave their Editor’s Choice award to Car Free Family Minneapolis, the tale of one family’s journey from dealing with a wreck to deciding to go without their own auto.

What I like most about this blog is the honesty. Yes, it really sucks sometimes going without your own car, but it’s doable, and there are options available when you need them. You can bike, walk, ride the bus, rent a car or take a cab. (Unfortunately, some of these services aren’t available everywhere.) What do I like more? They took this route with an older elementary child and a baby, and are still making it work.
Hopefully we will be doing an interview with the family in a week or two. I’m not sure if I’ll have much time with them, but post your questions here. I’ll try to fit them in. :)
