The best way to have a great workout is to feel good going into it. Try these tips and your workout quality will skyrocket.
- Listen to a play list of your favorite music. If you don’t already have an MP3 player or a phone that can serve as one, you can get one for cheap. Swinging music that gets you moving builds a lot more momentum than listening to idle gym noise and chatter.
- Get an arm strap to hold your music player in place. Music is good, but it shouldn’t inhibit you from moving. An arm strap keeps your MP3 or phone in place and allows you to concentrate on exercising.
- Eat light 45 minutes before you exercise. The fastest way to have a bad workout is to eat a heavy meal that drags you down. Eat something light that will give you just enough energy to get through your workout.
- Wear clothes you feel comfortable in. If fashion takes precedence in your choice of gym clothes, then your mind is in the wrong place. Choose clothes that allow you great range of motion and that you feel comfortable wearing in public.
- Leave your worries at the door. Working out is the best stress reliever, but it helps if you can concentrate on getting your reps done whether than personal troubles.
- Stay clear of chatty gym members. If you’re talking, you aren’t working. Eliminating distractions is huge to getting done in a timely fashion.
