(www.morethanweknow.com) They say that a picture is worth a thousand words – and that holds true for blogging as well!
When you review your old blog posts for inspiration and re-use opportunities, don’t overlook all the great pictures you’ve posted on your site. These, with or without quotes from your blog posts, can be turned into an engaging calendar that you can sell or give away to valued customers.
Calendars aren’t just for photography blogs – many other businesses have photo opportunities:
- restaurants – pictures of signature dishes and desserts
- travel agencies – pictures of exotic landmarks and cities
- veterinarians – client’s pets
- dentists – patient’s winning smiles
- crafters – finished items (with the how-to’s)
- artists – artworks
- interior designers – decorated rooms
- craftsmen - completed handywork
And don’t just take my word for it – take a look at these examples:
The Literary Gardener calendar by Karen Bledsoe of ReadingDirt with photos of the blogger’s garden, writing excerpts and recommended reading.
The Grocery List Collection calendar by Bill Keaggy of GroceryList with photos of – you guessed it - discarded grocery lists from his book Milk Eggs Vodka: Grocery Lists Lost and Found
Now is the time to start thinking about creating a 2009 calendar. You’ll want to have it ready in time for the holiday season. To create your own check out www.lulu.com
