How to Use Yahoo Answers to Drive Traffic to eBay Listings

Yahoo Answers is a feature found on Yahoo where members can ask and answer each other’s questions on just about any topic imaginable. Creative marketers have figured out how to use Yahoo Answers to direct traffic to their eBay listings and increase their sales.

So, what is the strategy? Answer questions in your field of knowledge or that relate to the products sold in your eBay store. For example, if you sell cosmetics in your eBay store, answer questions regarding skin care, makeup or fashion. If you sell pet products on eBay, answer questions about pet care, pet grooming, obedience training, service dogs, or animal shelters. At the end of your answer is a box to enter a link – this is where you should add the link to your eBay store. (You can check your eBay Traffic Reports to determine where your visitors come from.)

Answer the questions in a helpful, friendly, professional manner, then include a link to your store. Present yourself as an expert in your field. The original asker will read your answer, and any future readers who ever visit that question will also see it. I use Yahoo Answers for marketing my blogs, website, and eBay store and continue to receive traffic from questions I answered over a year ago. You can also receive eBay Store Referral Credits for purchases made by buyers directed to eBay as a result of a link outside of eBay.
