Just so everyone knows this isn't a trait specifically with AVG. I have a client that has had the same experience with the latest and greatest McAfee software (2009) and Outlook 2003. Initially it worked fine with an older McAfee but an update to the latest release stomped on the email body content. Just to correct my experience from a statement in a previous posting the content of the email is actually there. The problem at hand is actually just a display issue. This can be proven by opening the same outlook PST file on another machine with a working Outlook 2003 and finding that all of the messages are fully intact.

Very frustating. I'm not sure how products (in this case Antivirus software) get out the door with such issues!

My business partner is not able to read my html emails. If i change my outgoing emails to plain text, she can read them perfectly. Is the problem from her security settings or my outlook 2007 program? Thanks

I to did not receive the bodies of my email messages and the messages I tried to send, although they went to my Outbox as normal, the body of the message was not there either and unbeknownst to me, I was sending blank email messages. I now have no problems. Go into AVG, open "Email Scanner" click "Configure" and uncheck the "Certify Mail" box under both Incoming & Outgoing Email Scanning and all should be well. I to lost the emails I had received during this problem, but prior to, and since, everything is ok. Good Luck.

You can see the empty emails text if you copy the .msg file to the desktop and open it with notepad.

But I'm losing text from emails in my sent box - is that the same problem? I've switched AVG off as suggested and the problem seems to have gone away.

Thanks Bart,
I now regret I don't have all of my mail first going to my Gmail account. You see, with that account I always leave the mail on the server. I'm not sure if the problem should be accounted against AVG or Microsoft. I suppose it should be on my own shoulders because I knew it was a Beta program. At least I'm thankful the email I lost was not of great importance and the attachments are still intact.

No fix. Once they have been downloaded from the server, they are trashed. Nothing you can do about it.

Luckily, it only trashed about 6 of my emails, so I wasn't badly affected.

Cheers.
