Hundreds Show Up to Strip Club Job Fair

It is a sign of the times when a strip club job fair hoping to attract 20 to 30 people actually attracts hundreds. That’s 
exactly what happened yesterday at the Foxy Lady Strip Club in Providence, Rhode Island.
To be fair, not all of the positions open involve dropping your drawers. In addition to exotic dancers, the club is also hiring waitresses and bartenders.
Co-owner Tom Tsoumas says that many of the of people he met at the fair were desperate for work. With Rhode Island’s unemployment rate rising to 10.3% in January, some people can’t afford to pass up job opportunities that they once would have never considered, like working at a strip club. It isn’t surprising that the drug industry has seen a boost as well, so much so that some states are considering legalization.
Says one applicant, “I’ve been laid off since October of 2008, so I’m just trying to find something to make ends meet. Unemployment’s getting ready to run out… Things are bad.”
