Rhys Williams will not be making an appearance at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The 400 meters hurdler from Wales suffered a stress fracture in his right foot during the men’s 200 meter race at the Welsh Championships in Swansea this past weekend.
“I just felt a bone crack,” said Williams. “I’m gutted, but it is not the end of me,” said Williams. “This has made me more determined. You have not heard the last of me. I promise to be there doing my thing for Wales.”
I feel terrible for him. The race was his first since coming back from a different foot injury last season. Talk about tough luck…
