People gawked in 2003 when Japenese-auto power, Toyota Motor Corp, showed up toting a luxury hybrid SUV … but today the Lexus 330h is a reality. It’s that kind of history that has green auto-lovers so excited about Toyota’s announcement last night at the Detroit Auto Show that the hybrid future of the company will be expanding in the near future. Along with plans to add a plug-in option to the Prius, Toyota President, Katsuaki Watanabe, announced two brand-new models that would debut at next year’s show in Detroit – one for Toyota, and one for the luxury brand, Lexus.

Unfortunately, Watanabe was short on the details, but consumers can only hope that the company is finally making good on hybrid minivan teasers.
