I Thought Of You When They Closed Down The School
I’ve been told in the past by the previous owner of this blog that I should link to a few other places, so here, apropos of nothing, are three blogs I check out regularly. Don’t worry, I can connect all of these to retro games, honest!
First off, let’s leap into Postmodern Barney – one of many unmissable comics bloggers, Dorian Wright overflows with the perfect mix of serious comment, sparkling dry wit, and old comic panels taken out of context for cheap yuks (cf. his current surgical knifing of Millie The Model.) And he talks about video games, too!
Continuing our quest for sparkling and intelligent humour, let me introduce you to Cornelius Bear, one of Achewood’s subset of bloggers. If you’re only reading the webcomic, you’re missing out – every one of these blogs is a hidden gem, although Pat and Teodor share the crown with Cornelius. Here’s the venerable Mr. Bear’s brush with a video-game-like contraption.
And continuing with the comics theme, Comics Curmudgeon deals with a gaggle of US newspaper strips every day and treats them with the lack of respect they deserve. Always worth checking into if you’ve got a spare five minutes – you’ll be amazed how quickly it all grows on you. Look! Video games! Mentioned briefly!
Now go and read them all.
