IamFacingForeclosure.com is officially over…

For the last nine months, Casey Serin has been blogging about his real estate investment business particularly about how he is literally facing foreclosure. The IamFacingForeclosure.com was like his public journal…only things became very personal. He almost got a celebrity status from his media exposures in the US and around the world…thanks to the magic of the internet and blogging.  However, things got a toll in his personal life.  Conversations were not limited to his foreclosures, his personality, his wife and the rest of his family got involved.

He had a lot of Haterz, who were actually the ones that brought him the celebrity status. He also had a few Supporterz and the most  famous one was Robert Kiyosaki.

In his last few posts, one could feel his personal struggle to pursue his dreams in his own ways. However, as the readers of his blog in the last nine months have witnessed, his ways is not always the best…sometimes a bit too radical and even fraudulent.

Casey Serin’s goals are clear, his intentions are good but he had a bad start.  In my opinion, he had the wrong strategies, coupled with the wrong timing and some wrong advice to start with.  He got lost in his pursuit to follow his dreams.

He angered a lot of people in his ways. He also provided a lot of entertainment for some.  However, his most important achievement was sharing a real life lesson regarding some of the pitfalls in real estate investment.  I’m sure he is not the only one who committed such fraudulent practices.  He did not plan those strategies himself.  He learned it from others and he was made to believe that it is ok to practice it. However, I applaud him for being so honest and transparent about his deals.  It is an open book for everyone to see and most of all learn.

In the end, he has to move on and start anew.  I would not blame him for closing his blog.  He needs a fresh start for himself, his wife and a clear path to reassess his ways and means to fulfill his dreams.  Sometimes, when we get too many advices we get more confused on what to do.  It did not work for him before, so maybe it is about time that he has some moment of "alone time" and have the freedom to do things without the public scrutiny.

May his story be another Nick Leeson also known as the Rogue Trader; able to turn around and have a happily ever after life in spite of all the misfortunes that has come his way.
