Ike Grants A Wish

Many pro anglers receive a great deal of recognition from the fans and other anglers based on their ability to fish alone. They can do things on the water that some can only dream of doing. But for an angler to truly create a fan base based on themselves as a person and not just an angler, it sometimes requires a little more than just exceptional fishing. Case in point is Michael Iaconelli.
I came across this today and thought it needed to be shared. part of why I felt that way was because of how he is misinterpreted. The other is just to bring a great story to other anglers.
While Ike does many things that sometimes may have me thinking he’s sniffing fumes, I hold no opinion on him. I have been fortunate enough to meet Mike a few times and he is nothing short of being a great guy. Some people aren’t a fan solely based on his personality, but his wild like antics take nothing away from the sport and things like this definitely give back to the sport.

That’s good stuff right there. Just goes to show that you can’t always judge these athletes based solely on the character they display during competition.
