In the on deck circle…

Have you ever checked out the MLB.com auction site? I got this one from a friend. He sent me a link to three related auctions for “game used on deck circles from the 2006 World Baseball Classic.” No kidding. What can you do with them? Well, while you figure that out, here’s your chance to bid on an on deck circle that was used by China, Australia or Venezuela.

The opening bid for each of these on deck circles is $200 and only the Australia on deck circle has drawn an opening bid. But what are you going to do with it? Well, I asked my friend what he would do with it if he had won the auction. He replied, “embed it on the roof or hood of my car.” That would definitely make a statement. But I thought of some other uses for the on deck circles. You could take it to your local bar and place it near the taps so the bartender knows who’s next to order. Or you could place the on deck circle outside the bathroom at your local bar or even your home. It’s possible that you could use it as a welcome mat, where guests could wipe their feet before entering your home. Or you could actually use it as it was meant to be used and take it to your kid’s baseball game and let them use it or even your softball game.

I want to hear from you. If you won this item, what in the world would you do with it?
