Whatever be the level of data collection and research done on him, it is unarguable that it is still suspect. What is the point in coaches trying to teach young kids to keep their arms straight while delivering the ball. And beyond that any test match at the SSC is going to look like one played in a dried lake bed. The so called Legend even after having 600 runs on the board, would still have to bowl a negative line of pitching just outside legstump 90 % of his deliveries, by coming round the stump.. Srilanka and their cricket… They never want to get out of their shell and inabilities and it was evident in last test match as well. I would recommend a committee that reviews pitches in Srilanka and comes up with better playing surfaces. Things have changed in India over the last 10 years regarding surfaces.
