Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings Preview

LucasArts is developing Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings for the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 2.  There is, apparently, some discussion about having it released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 but it’s still uncertain.  The game should be available in June, 2009.

indiana_jones_and_staff_of_kings_1The third in a series, the game follows Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb and Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine but, to be honest, I don’t see a major improvement in the graphics from the first two.  I was disappointed by that but I think that being able to crack Indy’s whip with the Wii Remote is going to make up for it.

In the game, you will be searching for the Staff of Moses in 1939 but that’s about all that I could find out for now.  Exclusively on the Wii version, you will be able to unlock a “classic point and click adventure” called Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.  That is yet another reason why I will be getting this game for the Wii even though I own the PS2.  The main reason, however, is the cool gameplay.

If you watch the trailer, you will see that you not only can control Indy’s whip with the Wiimote but you can also complete a number of other tasks including rowing a boat (with the nunchuk attached), punching enemies and flying a plane.  Sounds like a lot of fun!
