This ad is like the gift that keeps on giving. Every time I read it, I find another wonderful nugget.
Let’s start with the title.
looking for someone who is funny and has an infalted ego
Speaking from experience, I can tell you infalted egos are difficult to find among funny writers. Of course, I’m not really sure what infalted means, but this being Craigslist, I’m sure there’s lots of infaltery out there.
Here’s the ad:

Nonetheless the website is top notch, and in a online magazine sort of organization. All of the writing is superb despite that it can and does deal with offensive topic. The range of stories include but are not limited to brutally honest reviews and opinions on anything, ideologies, life stories, and anything that will entertain people all the while hurting some feelings along the way. No pay as of now but when ad and sponsor revenue begin to roll in , we will compensate all authors accordingly ASAP. if you are interested you need to be an asshole and also passionate about your writing and getting your point or fictional idea across. profanity is encouraged and hate mail is a goal. once again the site has not yet launched which is why we cant pay anyone just yet, we are relying on the passion of writers and their goodwill to understand our situation.
Don’t you love people who feel being honest is an excuse for rudeness or hurt feelings. You know what I’m talking about, there’s always that one person in the group or office who is blunt and offensive, with absolutely no tact. After she insults your haircut or attire she says, “I’m sorry, but I’m just being honest. That’s how I am.” Wrong. You’re rude. Most people know honesty isn’t an excuse for rudeness and in fact know if they don’t have anything nice to say, not to say it at all.
So this guys looking for passionate assholes. Nice. Also nice is how he lays out all the cards on the table. Feelings will be hurt. But that’s not my favorite part. My favorite part is how he’s asking for the brutally honest, the blunt and offensive, and yet is looking for goodwill and understanding when it comes to him not paying his writers.
Ass.

Infalted ego huh. I wonder if I have one of those? What is wrong with people; I get spelling mistakes and misuse — it happens. But in a job ad looking for writers it should never happen. It makes you look like an idiot. And frankly, an idiot is the last sort of person I want to work for. Not to mention work for free for in this case. Lame. Love the ass pictures though. Too funny and a nice classy touch I’d say.
Perhaps the fellow needs a lovely query letter back to him demonstrating said “infaltry” by telling him what a flaming ass he is? Or perhaps the dear would enjoy being told he’s an idiot without a clue and that in all brutal honest, he needs his ass kicked thoroughly?
I wonder if one would get the job by being that honest? Why, it sounds like fun!
