Yes! The headlines are true. The release of Internet Explorer 7 has been there for months already but for many users who wishes to upgrade from their default Internet Explorer version with IE7 has been an obstacle, if running a pirated Windows copy.
And now, Windows officially makes Internet Explorer 7 upgrade for free without passing through the Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) validation stage. This is due to its rival, Firefox. Firefox gained more market share since it is for free and frequently updated. Users are now wise to use open source softwares. With WGA, Internet Explorer lost a lot of its market share due to validation processing. Many users who wishes to upgrade to IE7 but running not genuine Windows copy opts for Firefox instead. And with this changes, Microsoft is aiming to get back those market share.
To download Internet Explorer 7, go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx and get the benefits of tabbed browsing and improved printing, search, and security.

I have IE 7. But only because some sites demand it, i.e. Netflix, for full use of apps.
Otherwise, I use only Firefox and I love it. After fifteen years, I finally dumped my Netscape.
