Interstate Bakeries Unveils Plans To Exit Chapter 11

Bankrupt Maker of Twinkies Will Also Push For Legalization of Pot In Effort to Boost Sales

Interstate Bakeries, which make Hostess Twinkies and Wonder Bread, announced a plan that would allow the company to reorganize after four years of operating under bankruptcy provisions.

Investors were said to be largely unimpressed by the blueprint for the future advanced by the company and wondered how a company that makes Twinkies and Wonder Bread could go bankrupt in the first place.

“It’s not like they were selling tofu,” said shareholder rights activist Carl Avatar, “If you’re a bakery, about the only way you can’t make money selling Wonder Bread and Twinkies is if you decide to focus on selling cassette tapes.”

Avatar is looking to take over the company and notes he has recently arranged for Twinkies to become the Official Snack of Medical Marijuana Users and Keanu Reeves.
