During the month of May, I spent time researching technology and how it is changing the hiring process today. One of the companies I discovered in my research was HireVue. My discovery came as a result of reading an article in USA Today, “Job Seekers Show Rather Than Tell”. Prior to April, I had never heard about this company, nor did I know that companies are investing dollars in video interviewing in order to find new employees. I did a short write up on Hirevue here at Interview Chatter and as a result, that turned into an opportunity to interview Mark Newman.

Over the next few days I will share my interview with Mark Newman, COO and co-founder of Hirevue along with Ryan Money.

The purpose of the interview is to give job seekers a better understanding of how organizations are using this revolutionary tool of video interviewing in their hiring process. I welcome you to join me over the next couple of days as I share my interview with Mark Newman. This interview will give you some insight as a job seeker on how you can best prepare yourself for a video interview. It will also give hiring managers who are curious about the effectiveness of this technology, insight on how they can incorporate this tool in the hiring process.

Whether you are at an entry level or senior level, if you are still in the job market, moving from organization to organization, at some point in the very near future you could find yourself sitting in front of a computer and camera for your interview!

I will complete this series of posts with some of my personal insights concerning video interviewing and what I learned as a result of my interview with Mark Newman. Enjoy!
