At the beginning of the month, I promised a followup interview with Teri Christian, the founder of LinxGoggleTags.com. On the website, an innovative product is available called the Linx Goggle Tags. (Read more about the Linx Goggle Tags on our initial writeup.)
Here’s the interview where we discuss the past, present and future of LinxGoggleTags.com:
Stephen Kersey: LinxTags is a very interesting product. How did you get the idea?
Teri Christian: I was at the Junior Olympics volunteering at the snack bar for three 12-hour days. I kept hearing the kids arguing over the swim goggles; during one of the arguments I happened to look down and saw a Jibbitz on a pair of Crocs. I thought, “Why don’t we have these for goggles?” So I went home that night and the process began.
SK: Early on in the startup process, what were the biggest obstacles you had to face?
TC: The biggest obstacle was figuring out the steps. How do I bring my vision to a reality? It took a lot of time and research.
SK: A lot of people love the startup process. What was your favorite part of that process?
TC: I love the whole process, from the beginning challenges of taking an idea from a vision to molding it into a business.
SK: What should potential LinxTags customers know about your business?
TC: They should know that we are currently in the process of working on a way to customize designs.
SK: What type of feedback have you had for your products?
TC: We have had amazing support along with positive feedback from the swimming community, including USA Swimming, merchants and the consumers.
SK: For the remainder of 2009, what are your goals?
TC: We hope to expand the selection of designs to custom orders.
SK: What are your goals for LinxTags five years from now?
TC: I would like to have a large distributor in place and have sold 1 million LinxTags.
