So a new era for mobile communications has begun. The iPhone is now available to the general public. A lot of people lined up to get their hands on the most coveted gadget today. What comes with this are countless blog posts and articles about the iPhone.

Gruber of Daring Fireball writes… “the iPhone is 95 percent amazing, 5 percent maddening”.

Rob Griffiths of Macworld says… “I thought my Treo was pretty thin, but the iPhone makes it look like a sumo wrestler by comparison”

Rob’s colleagues are not so lucky. Jim Dalrymple is having trouble activating his iPhone. That must be toture.

TUAW’s David Chartier has his first impression of the iPhone. He also has a second.

PC World took it a step further and subjected the iPhone to a stress test. All in the name of blogging… Why?!?! It’s a shame to try and deface that wonderful gadget.

The good news is that it seems to have done well.

As a whole the iPhone seems to be living to its hype. Most of the drawbacks or negative aspects of the phone pertain to AT&T and its network. There are other things about the iPhone that need improvement but it’s looked over because of the other amazing features it has.

Let’s see what people will say a few days after.
