Yeah, it may be due to competition that&#039;s why the video function was added. I guess time will tell if that proves to be a good thing.</description>

They cost roughly the same, but the Nikon D40 only has 6 Megapixels While the Canon/Sony has 10 Megapixels. Nikon found it very hard to compete, so they made a Nikon D40x which now has 10 MP. Most of us will never need that extra 4 MP, but most will still buy either one of the 10 MP cameras. 

I think the option to put video on the Nano is due to competition and not for the need to have one, just like competition elsewhere.</description>

		<description>I&#039;m in the hate it category. I really like the old Nano&#039;s design. And I for one, don&#039;t think movies or videos should be watched on a screen that small. A totally unnecessary feature for my part.</description>
