iPod While You Play Poker?

I never listen to music while I play poker, but last time I played I decided to change things up.  I still didn’t listen to any music or podcasts, but I did put the headphones in.  I just wanted to see if there was anything different or players acted any differently.  The one positive I perceived was that I may have appeared more aloof than I was.

What I mean is that rather appearing focused on cards, an onlooker may have thought I was more lost in thought and downgraded any tells or facial expressions that I might give off.

If you do listen to your iPod while you play, it does get annoying if everytime action is on you or someone asks you a question, you don’t know what is said and it has to be repeated.  After the fifth time you take off your ear buds and say “what?” it gets to the point you need to take them off.
