IPTV Coming to Xbox 360

A few sparse details coming out from CES already. These are regarding the Xbox 360 becoming more and more of a living room entertainment portal. That’s right, it’s not just for some video games and music anymore. Soon you’ll be able to get IPTV functionality out of it.

Here’s the sweet and short of it:

  • probably not available until Holidays 2007
  • existing providers already offering services
  • easy community discovery and sharing
  • play a game and DVR in the background

Visit Engadget using the link below for more, but still sparse, details. My only question at this point is will this be taken care of through a hardware flash update or something? Does it have everything it needs to do what they say right now?

Also, could this be the type of thing that brings YouTube video fun into the mainstream living room?
