Official word from SEGA states that the upcoming Iron Man 2 game, which will debut during Comic-Con this weekend, will go beyond the movie. It will, of course, take from the movie as well as the comic, but also give players “the game they have been waiting for.” That quote comes directly from Sean Ratcliffe, the Vice President of Marketing for SEGA of America.
Some of these “beyond the movie” features include the addition of new enemies not seen in the film, such as Crimson Dynamo. There will also be a bigger focus on hand-to-hand combat and a new design to the controls.
So, maybe exciting? Maybe not that exciting. Entirely depends on how much you love Iron Man. Ratcliffe was also quoted as saying that they’ve been careful to take player feedback from the original game and incorporate it into the sequel – as well as to add new things to the game at large.
Neat thing to note: Comic book author Matt Fraction is responsible for the original story featured in Iron Man 2.
