According to the ATL All Tune & Lube franchise website:
All Tune and Lube, ATL Motor Mate and All Tune Transmissions are exciting established business opportunities backed by a successful organization. Howeve, negative comments have been appearing on such internet sites as Unhappy Franchisee. According to this comment on the All Tune & Lube franchise,
I signed an contract in hopes of making a good living by working hard and running my own business with the help of big franchise company that would give me the guidance… I did not [think] that they would take advantage of me and leave me in the middle with everything I had, including economically and emotionally. The All Tune and Lube franchise is one of the most despicable… franchises on the face of the earth. I am wondering after reading about all of the people that they have ripped off how they can stay in business and continue to deceive the public. [read more]

It is best to speak to franchisees of ATL directly. If they all tell you it is great and then want to know if you want to purchase theirs, then walk away.
I own a well known auto franchise. It is what you make of it and how you manage it daily. The last thing you want to do is buy yourself a low paying job or an expensive hobby.
And nothing can help you if you are under capitalized and have a bad location.
Good Luck

That’s great insider advice from one who knows. It’s critical to speak directly to franchise owners, but just as critical to be cognizant of their self-interest. Some may be area reps or developers (franchisees & salespeople). Some may be looking to dump their franchise on the next trusting, um, soul. And many will tell you straight if you approach them the right way and respect their time.
I do not claim to be brilliant regarding franchising but I guess I have seen quite a bit. I started as an ops manager in the 80’s for a well know auto repair chain and then went to work for, and then own up to 5 locations of a well known auto maintenance franchise. Still there and presently enjoying oil prices.
I have seen good franchisees with bad franchisors and vise versa – and every combination in between.
ATL doesn’t sound like something I would touch but…..
