Is Canada First Of Losers?

This year, Canada’s olympic comitee decided they would aim at 25 medals or a 3rd rank in the standings (I had previously reported 5th… so… who knows).

So far, Canada has 14 medals. Not in a comfortable situation to go for the 25.

But if Canada’s athletes who finished 4th had pushed just one bit more to get the bronze, the total of medals today would be 23.

That’s right, 9 Canadian athletes finished 4th these Olympics.

Namely:

Alpine skiing

  • Giant Slalom: François Bourque at 0,72 s.
  • Super-G: Érik Guay at 0,10 s.
  • Super-G: Kelly VanderBeek at 0,03 s.
  • Bobsleigh

  • Bob-2: Helen Upperton & Heather Moyse at 0,05 s.
  • Freestyle Skiing

  • Moguls: Marc-André Moreau at 0,68 points.
  • Skeleton

  • Paul Boehm at 0,26 s.
  • Snowboard

  • Boarder cross: Maëlle Ricker fell during the finals and finished 4th.
  • Short Track Speed Skating

  • 1500 m: Charles Hamelin at 0,37 s.
  • 500 m: Kalyna Roberge won finals B and finished 4th.
  • Isn’t that sad?

Canada is the 1st of the losers 9 times.

I found this interesting … I am able to translate the page into English via Internet Explorer by right-click, and on that page .. “Ski acrobatique” translates into “Hot Dogging” .. not “Freestyle Skiing”

      LOL

Hot dogging is the term used in the 1980s for aerials!

as a reference, there is a 1984 movie by this name:

      Hot Dog the movie

      Fun-Ny!
