Is McCain Really Concerned, or Just Really, Really Smart?

(www.bizchicksrule.com) — Today, Republican presidential nominee John McCain announced that he’d be suspending his campaign and challenged Democratic candidate Barack Obama to follow suit. The priority, McCain says, is to fix the nation’s troubled economy.
The AP reports that McCain’s announcement came just minutes after he agreed to Obama’s private suggestion to McCain that the candidates issue a joint statement regarding an economic fix, so now I’m wondering just who’s got what in mind with this whole idea. But I’m willing to go out on a limb here and say that no one has solely the best interests of the nation at hearts.
So far, Obama has refused to postpone Friday’s scheduled debate, suggesting, much to my amusement, that McCain needs to learn how to multitask.
I haven’t seen any VP commentary on the decision, but I’ll let you know if I do…

Smart move? Hardly. He’s just stalling for…something – - who knows. At some point, he has to face the music and (gasp) talk about the issues.
Oh, but he’s SO CONCERNED about the AMERICAN PEOPLE that he’s willing to SET ASIDE his OWN PRIORITIES. Or didn’t you get that memo? ;)
