It's about understanding the culture of the blogger and what they do. Gapingvoid and Seth Godin (the two referenced in the article) are the last ones you would ever ask. Others are more likely to be OK with it. The first thing I talk about when looking for links and sending out information to bloggers and asking them to write about you is 'understand the blogger'. I've got 3-4 posts about this, all pretty much the same idea; this one just picked up with yet another agency who did not read the lessons first. But they are learning. It’s about HOW you ask for links. It’s about understanding the culture of the blogger and what they do.
