It’s ‘Way-Out’
I’m still feeling fragile after the horrors of Friday (ugh!) but thankfully I have just written the last ever post on my other blog, which will only be of interest to those of you who’ve read the DC Comics hem-hem ‘event’ 52. Seriously, nobody else will know what the hell I’m talking about on that one.
Anyway, this will mean much more free time on Sundays for Re:Retro, and hopefully an end to posts where I examine YouTube videos. Like this one.
Words fail me.
Actually, that would make a really catchy number one hit. “Yar – he knows where you ARRRRE! HAVE YOU PLAYED ATARI TODAY??” Sounds quite menacing really. Presumably if I haven’t played Atari today Yar will come and get me.
It’s even got a rap in the middle eight with a nifty ion zones/evil drones rhyme. Word.
Yar’s Revenge was something of a classic in the USA as I understand it, but this advert is telling me nothing about the game at all – there’s a white thing that seems to be eating a red thing, and some meaningless static, and some hideous big-eyed helmet-haired kids and a mother who for some reason is happy to sit down and help her children’s brains rot out of their ears from the mind-numbing computer games. If my Mum had sat down to battle the Yar (or possibly play the role of the Yar) I would have thought she’d gone mad, possibly with fear of THE YAR that KNOWS WHERE YOU ARRRRE.
