Ivan Maisel’s new book

Oregon State Beavers football head coach Mike Riley

ESPN writer Ivan Maisel has given plenty of ammunition for message boards, forums and blogs to vent about in his new book, titled “The Maisel Report: College Football’s Most Overrated and Underrated Players, Coaches, Teams, and Traditions.”

In the book, Maisel calls Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis one of the most overrated coaches in college football. Maisel also called Oregon State’s Mike Riley as the most underrated.

Maisel tabbed the USC-UCLA contest as the most overrated rivalry, while Clemson-South Carolina was called the most underrated.

College football fans are very passionate about their favorite teams. So when a writer comes around and calls their team overrated, some might want some revenge on such a writer. The revenge for a fan? Maybe busting up Maisel on message boards across the country.
